  19.   Now that your semester or quarter is over, what should  you  do
  20. with  ICES?  Well, just tuck it all away in your favorite storage
  21. medium until you need it the next time you teach this course.

  23.   But, there are some really neat things you can do and we'd like
  24. you  to  know about them.  So, the following screens are intended
  25. to help you get the most out of your system.

  31. BACKUP YOUR FILES
  32.  
  33.   The first thing you should do in closing down your  system  for
  34. the  term  is  to  copy  all  of  the files from your MASTER FILE
  35. diskette onto your backup copy.  
  36.  
  37.   If you are using a dual floppy system, make sure you  copy  all
  38. files  ending with .INS and .TCH from your PROFESS disk onto your
  39. backup master file diskette.

  41.   If you are using a hard disk system, make  sure  you  copy  all
  42. files  ending with .INS and .TCH from your PROFESS directory or
  43. DRIVE\PATH onto your backup master file diskette.

  50. THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'VE GOT!  
  51.  
  52.   If you have used ICES for the first time, you've done a lot  of
  53. work  to  create  your quizes and examinations for your students. 
  54. However, you'll never have to repeat that work again  unless  you
  55. want  to revise your course.  ICES is now fully ready for use the
  56. next time you teach this course.

  58.   Let's suppose that you have  to  teach  the  same  course  next
  59. semester,  and  look  at  how  you would use ICES the second time
  60. around.

  64. SETTING UP FOR THE NEXT SEMESTER  
  65.  
  66.   In order to use ICES for the  next  semester,  you'll  need  to
  67. prepare  a  new  ICES  Diskette for use by the students.  Or will
  68. you?  The answer is clearly 'No' -- unless you choose to redesign 
  69. or modify your course or the way you choose to run it.  Thus,  if
  70. you  make  no  changes, the ICES Diskette is ready for use by the
  71. next group of students!

  73.   If  you  do wish to modify any portion of your course by use of 
  74. the 'Setup' procedures, you may do that very  easily.   Once  the
  75. new  setup  has  been  completed, just copy all of the .INS files
  76. from your ICES PROFESS disk onto the student's ICES Diskette.

  78.   Naturally, you'll need a  new  'Master  File'  diskette.   Just
  79. format a new blank diskette (and a backup, please), label it, and
  80. then  copy  all  files from the old master file diskette onto the 
  81. new one.  You're now ready  to  create  a  new  list  of  student
  82. passwords and format blank diskettes for the students.
